Become involved and join the fun and the activities offered by KLMBGC of the Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club. Participants receive instruction from coaches who are American Sports Effectiveness Program qualified.
These activities are available to all youth living within and around the Kettering-Largo-Mitchellville community, regardless of ability and/or skill level. KLMBGC offers basketball, soccer, baseball, cheerleading and football programs for girls and boys ages 3 – 18.
At the present time, 2,500 volunteers serve 18,000 youth members of the Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club. As implied by the club name, KLMBGC primarily serves the Kettering, Largo and Mitchellville community.Īs a member KLMBGC provides Prince George’s County youth opportunities to participate in many sports activities. Effectiveness and communication are open to all that have a sincere interest in giving back to the children in the community. Among 10th graders, 25.4 percent said they had smoked in the past month, up 20 percent from 1991, and the rate of daily smoking had increased from 12.6 percent of the youths surveyed to 14.6. The organizational structure of the Club is designed to capture both board and non-board members input through the use of several committees that are charged with specific responsibilities to maintain the expertise needed to solve the day-to-day issues of the Club. KLMBGC is one of 33 member clubs of The Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club (PGCBGC) which is a private, non-profit corporation incorporated under the statutes of the State of Maryland and is governed by a Board of Directors.
